What
to prepare for:
We want this to
be a positive
experience for
all singers. The
audition is designed
to merely give
the directors
an idea of the
skill level of
the singer for
best placement
in ensembles.
The audition (depending
on age and level
of singer) may
consist of vocalizes
(warmups) to assess
vocal range, timbre;
tonal memory exercises;
sight-singing;
and score identification.
The singer may
also be asked
to sing a simple
folk or patriotic
tune.
It is always possible to join
choirs at the beginning of second semester. If this is your situation,
contact Mr. Marsh or Ms.
Gabbard.
Students currently enrolled in
a chorus class need not schedule an outside audition. You will
audition during your chorus class.
