The
Lafayette Chorus
Boosters, Inc.
maintains Credit
Accounts
for choir students
as a means of
lessening the
fee burdon as
well as providing
opportunities
for students to
pay for any trips
or additional
fees (all-state,
etc) students
participate in.
Most
fundraisers will
give your student
the opportunity
to earn credits
toward their student
account. A few
fundraising projects
will necessitate
participation
with no individual
reward other than
to contribute
to the over-all
good of the program
(often to meet
minimum budget
constraints).
Student accounts
will be maintained
by the Booster
Treasurer. Credits
earned from participation
in designated
fundraisers will
be applied to
your student’s
account to offset
your student’s
Vocal Music fees
and expenses.
Credits applied
will be prioritized
in the manner
described in the
“Credit
Policy”
listed below.
CHORUS BOOSTER CREDIT
POLICY
Credit
earning levels
will be determined
and announced
for each specific
fundraiser. Some
fundraisers may
have a “minimal
sales goal”
requirement before
a student is eligible
to start earning
credits.
For example: all
students may be
expected to sell
2 boxes of candy,
and then sales
over that number
will accumulate
credits.
Occasionally some
students and their
parents may choose
to not participate
in a given fundraising
campaign due to
personal preference,
scheduling conflicts,
or time constraints.
As an alternative,
we ask that an
“IN LIEU
OF” or "Opt-Out"
contribution be
made in order
to fulfill your
budgetary responsibility.
“IN LIEU
OF” amounts
will be indicated
at the beginning
of each fundraising
campaign.
Jackpot Bingo
at Eastland Shopping
Center is our
largest source
of fundraising
dollars and we
CRITICALLY need
your support to
staff our obligation
for Bingo. As
a result, we ask
all families to
work ONE SESSION
during the year.
Lafayette Chorus
is allocated two
slots on Saturday
evening so each
chorus family
will need to provide
TWO workers for
that one night.
Twenty (20) credits
can be earned
by each worker
so that on any
given Saturday
evening, a total
of forty (40)
credits can be
earned toward
a student’s
account. Please
see “Jackpot
Bingo” handout
for further details.
FIRST
PRIORITY: Credits
will first be applied
to student accounts to
pay Vocal Music fees and
expenses.
SECOND PRIORITY:
After all required Vocal
Music fees and expenses
have been satisfied, student
account credits may be
used to pay participation
costs of certain events
associated with the Lafayette
Choral Department such
as KMEA All-State Chorus
fees, summer Vocal Camp
fees, travel costs/expenses
associated with special
trips, and other events
as designated by the Chorus
Booster Board.
CARRYOVER AND TRANSFER:
Students may carry forward
unused credits from one
year to the next, and
graduating seniors may
transfer unused credits
to siblings enrolled in
Vocal Music the immediately
following year. Unused
credits of graduating
seniors not carried forward
to a sibling or from students
leaving the Vocal Music
program will be recovered
by Lafayette Chorus Boosters.
Credits are non-transferable
to other students, except
for siblings – in
which case, a written
request must be made for
transfer.
EXCEPTIONS: Student
account credits may NOT
be used to pay for fundraiser
items, CD orders, or Chorus
Booster Membership dues. |
